The Speedmaster makes its inspiration and intentions clear from the start. We took that laid back custom look and added a real big helping of attitude.
The result is a tough looking motorcycle with slash-cut pipes, blacked out engine casings and black cast wheels with machined rims. The Speedmaster celebrates the performance of its air-cooled 865cc parallel twin, 270º crank engine in a unique 60’s hot rod style.
A tank mounted tacho, braided hoses, twin front discs and flat bars confirm this motorcycle goes as well as it looks.
Make no mistake, whenever and wherever a Speedmaster arrives it leaves no one in any doubt as to how great the ride has been on the way.
Features & Benefits
Engine
At the heart of the Speedmaster lies a fuel injected, 865cc, air-cooled, DOHC, parallel twin engine with a 270º firing interval. Peak power of 61bhp arrives at 6800rpm, with maximum torque of 55ft.lbf available at just 3300rpm.
Fuelling
The Speedmaster is updated with a new fuel injection system to meet Euro 3 legislation. Cleaner running than a carburettor engine, the fuel injected engine is also easier to fire up from a cold start and runs more smoothly when cold. The cool retro styling remains uncompromised though, as the fuel injectors are cleverly concealed by throttle bodies designed to look like carburettors.
Handlebars
Flat drag bars with high risers deliver a more aggressive riding position
Fuel Tank
The Speedmaster’s seamless, teardrop-shaped tank gives plenty of capacity and looks great with its chromed badges.
Brakes
Twin 310mm front discs – gripped by twin-piston calipers lets you haul the Speedmaster up as hard as you want.
Seat
The Speedmaster gunslinger seat supports and ‘cups’ the rider ready to launch at the horizon.

Triumph 2009 Triumph Speedmaster Media/Press Release(s):
Other changes to the 2009 range include a new colour option – PhantomBlack and New England White – for Triumph’s stripped down factory custom, the
Speedmaster, plus a rugged new look for the Scrambler. This popular retro
model has been given a tough new look for 2009, thanks to an attitude-filled Matt
Khaki Green colour scheme echoing military bikes of the 1950s and 1960s. The
Scrambler, which takes its design cues from the off-road bikes of the ‘60s, will
also be available in Jet Black.
Both the 2009 Speedmaster and Scrambler will be available from August and are
priced at £6,199 otr* and £5,999 otr* respectively
